Get the fishin' poles ready...

Today Heavenly Father called back one of his special spirits. My dear friend Frank was able to leave this world and all of the struggles he has endured for the past 82 years and return to his family and his father in heaven.

I have been so blessed in my life to have the privilege of being able to make a difference in the lives of some incredible people. Each and everyone of them has such a special place in my heart and I am honored to be a part of their lives.
My sweet friend Frank was the orneriest, crankiest, meanest one of the bunch and I loved him dearly. Frank and I bonded early on in our relationship. Once you were able to break through that huge wall he would throw up every time he met someone new, he was the sweetest guy around. I was able to break through quickly and he and I became great friends. Whenever I would go to visit him he would be waiting for me with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, ready for a morning chat.
I am so happy for Frank because he has escaped the bonds of his broken, down, crippled body and once again walk, and run, and dance. I picture him hanging out with his brother Vern sitting by a campfire, cooking the fish the spent all day catching. It brings tears of joy to my eyes that Frank is once again reunited with the family he loved and missed so much and spent most of his life without.
When I lost one of my sweet friends several years ago I wrote this to read at her funeral. I think it is a very fitting tribute to my sweet Frank as well.
What's in a Tear!
It's the feeling of a loved one passed away.
The joy for a friend who has come a long way.
A tear holds that secret bond
between that friend who has come
and the one who has gone.
The thought of a tear may be small.
But the strength that it shows joins us all.
A tear drops at that one moment in time
as all your troubles and cares are left behind.
A tear can make the strongest ones weak
There's a magical change as it glides down your cheek.
A tear is crystal clear right from the start
and reflects the true intent inside our heart.
A tear is a gift to that lovely friend
showing that our friendship is one that won’t end.
It's a symbol of the memories of all that’s gone by
Those times that we laughed and those times that we cried.
No one knows when that tear will fall,
but the moment it does is the greatest of all.
A tear drop is the hope that there is a way,
that our paths will cross once again someday.
God be with you my dear friend.
Until we meet again.

It sounds like Frank was a real character and a good friend. I like the poem you shared.
