Spring Break update with Jenn Jam....

I can't believe spring break has come and gone. I guess when you are grown up it just does that.
Guido's Pass of All Passes was expired and luckily a friend hooked me up with the most killer deal. Normally the pass is $49.95, I scored it for $9.99. So awesome, especially because the pass already paid for itself this week alone. Can't beat that. Even better, I love that the boys just say we are going to Trafalga. There is no more, can you take us to Trafalga? Gotta love when the friends can drive themselves.
We had the usual houseful for Easter weekend and we had fun the entire time. We dyed Easter eggs and made a lovely mess of the kitchen.

The Egg Head

Ave and her princess
Tiko and his Rock Star
A little out of order but self explanatory =c)
It is so much fun to take the entire crew to church.
On Easter Sunday it was extra special and was so nice to have everyone there
because it was a special day for Guido.
Since he turned sixteen he was interviewed and found worthy to be ordained a priest.
Me and my sweet boy
The teenagers

The newest addition...he was lovin' the six-lets
This Saturday I had a fun filled Girls day out. It started with a matinee at Capitol theater with Katyana and Mikelle. We saw the Little Mermaid. It was so amazing.
We then slipped down to City Creek Center for lunch.

Mikelle, me and Katy'
I then had a wonderful date with my Mother-in-law to attend a session at the Jordan River Temple.
What a beautiful temple and what a peaceful time. I cannot believe how much I love going to the temple. Each time I go I get such a wonderful sense of peace. I don't know why I am surprised that each time I enter the temple I am in awe of the beauty and this time it was no different. What joy I have found.

After the temple it was back to the ballet with Katyana to see Emeralds with Petite Mort and Paquita. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I love the ballet!!! I can't wait for next season.

Happy Birthday Guido...

Okay so I'm a little late. However, this isn't really a Happy birthday post. It's a look how much my baby boy is growing up post. I swear he was just a little guy last week. Where does the time go.I sure do love this kid and am so glad I can finally get him to start semi-smiling in pictures. I am paying enough for it, he better start showing it off.

A picture IS worth a thousand words.....

There was a time in my life when I never would allow a picture to be taken of me. I would avoid it, because I was ashamed of myself and who I thought I was.I was walking in the store yesterday when I noticed a clerk was taking pictures of his LEGO display. I stopped so he could finish and he said " No, I need a model will you pose for a picture." I laughed and said,"No" He said, "Pretty please." So I gave in.
I would have never done that. Say, two or three years ago. Around that time Guido asked me why I was not in any pictures with him.Yes, we have family pictures. But no candid "Life" shots. At that point I decided I was no longer going to hide. I didn't care what my weight was. It is what it is. I want my son to have pictures to show his children and his grandchildren of his mother.
My niece was playing with my phone two weeks ago and I was showing her how to use the camera.I had pointed it at her mother, when she said, "Don't do that my mother doesn't like us to take her picture." Then again last weekend when my sister-in-law was going to take some candid family shots the same (mom) said "We aren't going to take any pictures this weekend."It made me so sad but I spoke up and said I wanted to make sure to get a picture of all of my husbands siblings with their parents. Luckily, both of my husbands sisters agreed and we took pictures. I have learned my lesson and realize that no matter what the situation be.....
Whether I have just finished a 5K
or hiked 5 miles down a canyon
Been 140 pounds heavier
been in love
or just been having fun!!!
I will never ever miss the opportunity to capture a picture, another moment, or another precious memory.

Word-free Wednesday...

These orchids are blooming around our pond. They bloom in the morning and are dead by the next day. Sharing their beauty with us just moments.

It's like Christmas all over again....

During our last move I kept coming across unprocessed rolls of film, not just a few rolls, but like 10 or so.  So I stuck them in my night stand drawer and promised myself that I was going to begin processing them little by little. Not knowing what is on any of them, how old they might be or if they will even turn out I decided to not print pictures, just a disc.
Walgreens was having a half off sale on their discs, so I took 5 of the rolls down there yesterday. I was so happy when they said I could get them back in three hours. I was so full of excitement when I drove home from Walgreen's I couldn't wait to see what treasures awaited me on those discs. I was so happy to see the wonderful memories I had found

Dan and Erin's Wedding

Kenya's First Skating Program

KP's Baptism Luncheon

I've gotta run but promise to post some more tommorow......
